Housed within the station building are various displays. There is also a lengthy running model of the Folkestone (Cheriton) to Canterbury line, built with the help of the Folkestone Model Railway Club

Peene village never had a railway station, but we know where it should have been. It is rumoured that the village was informed by the railway company that if they wanted a station they would have to pay for it. The money was collected, but supposedly the treasurer decided to go on holiday!!

The station building is in fact an antique pigsty, but has been converted to  1930s style Elham Valley Railway Station.
